A popular service stop for those travelling to Victor Harbor, this is an authentic rural hub surrounded by rolling hills, meandering country roads and a bounty of local produce that range from blueberries and strawberries to cheese, pheasants and venison – much of which can be found on a trail through hamlets such as Nangkita, Tooperang, Yundi and Ashbourne. The local sense of humour shines through with Australia’s only dairy cow race, held each January, which is a fun way of celebrating the dairy heritage of the region.
